A website offering nutritional supplementation advice to Seniors in the US. The Company will be US headquartered while the promoters are based out of India. Currently self-funded, the Company will go in for VC funding in the near future.

Health writer / Medical Journalist
Scope:
To come on board as a member of the team of Nutrition experts for the website with a role that focusses on content development (writing), by identifying trends in nutritional supplements and geriatric nutrition.
Job Description:
1. Write 300-500 word articles on topics that are trending in nutritional supplements pertaining to specific pre-identified topics on geriatric health.
2. The topics would cover both enhancement areas (for e.g. better hair/skin, improved eyesight) as well as specific health issues (Alzheimer\'s, insomnia, women\'s health, diabetes, obesity, etc.).
3. All articles and the recommendations emerging thereof should be based on evidence or research. Anecdotal information will remain outside the purview of this site.
4. Writing simply and clearly for a lay audience in a national daily or a glossy lifestyle magazine.
5. Writing persuasive promotional or educational material for a Healthcare Website.
6. Patience, the ability to think on your feet and an engaging personality for a website. (be honest!)
7. Be prepared for rejection. Like J K Rowling, one day your time may come but there are no guarantees in life.
8. Do you have the consent of the people you\'re writing about and is what you\'re saying 100% true. If so, good. If not, remember medical ethics - and the US\'s legal laws!
We would expect the writers to help identify trending topics with this specific target consumer group (people aged 45+ in America) and align with the Company team on the topics to be explored.
Experience:
The potential candidate requirements:
a) Need to have a professional qualification - an RD/RN/DTR degree or its equivalent. They must be licensed to practice across the Untied States. OR
b) Be a medical journalist or health writer for a publication
The website aims to be FDA compliant and hence the candidate should be familiar with FDA regulations pertaining to the supplements category. The candidate needs to have a minimum of two years\' of experience in the field of nutritional advice. Familiarity with social media and previous experience as a writer/blogger on nutrition would be needed.
Remuneration:
Payment for the articles will be on a per word or per article basis. The candidates will be paid on the project and deliverables agreed upon. We are a start-up and hence very conscious of the monies we have on hand. However, we will be fair and cognizant of the quality of the output being delivered when we discuss numbers. And like with many start-ups, we are flexible!
I have a Masters in Public Health degree from one of the top Schools of Public Health in the US. Additionally, I have a BA in education and I am working on my Doctorate, for which I am focusing on bridging the disciplines of Public Health and Education. I fully recognize the importance of communicating effectively at the population level to ensure that health outcomes are improved by providing accurate and relevant information. My writing combines technical knowledge and the ability to review scientific data and present it in a way that lay readers can understand, making it possible for individuals to relate it to their own health and experiences. I have worked on technical writing pieces at the university level and for a United Nations agency.
I have a BSc. in Food Science and Nutrition and will deliver quality articles since it is my field of study. I also did my internship[p in a hospital and was exposed to most of the nutritional challenges.
