Hi, I'm professional developer with large experience in video/audio processing and post processing. I know how to analyze video/audio file, check audio to detect peaks and lows (silence). I can build a standalone windows application that will be multithreaded (can process several files at once) and fast.

I can even do it for you on less than this budget. Can detect and take actions based on the average power of the whole file. What format are the files? Is that windows?

Hello, My name is Chris Bethea and I have almost 20 years of C programming experience. While you don't specify what file format you want to analyze, I assume they'll be .WAV files or some similar PCM format. Reading, interpreting and analyzing the files will be no problem, nor will the silence removal or batch processing. I have worked on similar applications (signal processing/analysis) before, so I have a pretty good understanding of how audio is encoded for PC and the most common file types. Hi! Interesting project. It is even more interesting because it actually falls in my area of expertise and past experience. I am an electrical and computer engineer, currently working at a research institute in the fields of computer vision and 3d graphics. In the past I have worked a lot in audio projects and signal processing. Samples of my previous work in audio signal processing follows: 1. My diploma thesis was about studying and constructing a passive acoustic radar 2. I have designed and constructed a guitar tuner circuit 3. About 2 years ago, here on freelancer, I worked with someone on improving the performance of a real-time speech recognition system in noisy environments. In this particular project I had implemented a Voice Activation Detection module that was able to detect segments of speech, distinguishing them from background noise, not necessarily silence. Your project seems to be a special (simpler) case of the more generic problem I already faced at that time. I would be interested to know more about your input audio files, what kind of audio do they contain and how you do define silence. Having sample audio data would help me better. You should be willing to accept a solution that may not be 100% accurate on its output. You can't actually expect an automated system to have 100% accuracy under all circumstances. A simple sample amplitude for detecting and establishing silence may not work for audio because a lot of inherent noise, that software will see as signal, will be perceived as silence by human hearing. Dear Sir, surely fast and reliable processing would be against certain formats, such as .wav. You did not specify, whether compressed formats, such as .mp3, .mpeg, .3gp, and music .mid should be also processed. The different methods should be used in that cases, a processor-intensive process of recoding may be needed for .mpeg, .mp3, .3gp. If you do not need all those cases, the task is easier, may be done quicklier and may be less costy. To fulfil the 1-7 specifications is not difficult. Difficulty may be with files of some not ordinary types.
