Hi, I'm a professional Hydrologist that specialises in urban drainage and based in the UK, where urban drainage and flood risk is very big business. I can propose some drainage that prevents the flooding, is good for the environment and is aestetically pleasing (not only fitting in with the garden but also improving it). Furthermore, though there will be the initial cost of implementig the drainage (doing the work such as digging and planting will save money), the drainage methods I am propsing are relatively maintenance and cost free in the future and are therefore highly sustainable.
