Data Logger using USB Thumb Drive

I need to ask few questions: - Diy you have an enclosure already designed or selected? - How many units do you plan to build?(These have some impact in component selection) - In my understanding your system will receive some data trough RS232 and save it on a memofor posterior reading using an USB interface, is that right? My sugestion is that you use a SD card and make it removable. I can handle USB without problem but I think that you can go for a very low cost microcontroller without it and with ni lost in functionality. Best regards Euripedes
