Digital potentiometer using via mcu

Dear Sir You are not clear about your purpose I think the MCP41010 will output a voltage similar to a potentiometer. The voltage will be divided in 256 steps, according to the spi value written in its register. Not 16 positions If you want to have a 16 position rotary potentiomenet connected to your board, this is not the circuit. You will have to use an ADC to read the position of the wiper.

The rotary DIP switch uses a specific combination of digital output pins for determining the states. The output is sensed by the micro controller and the position of switch is decided . Then analog signal is generated to corresponding selection of switch. This to interface with the existing board you have mentioned. there are 2 ways to complete the project. Since you have already completed some work , you may share that over message. I can try to find that. Or I may design the schematics and send it over to you and u may solder that over the bread board. In that case also you have to share the detail of the microcontroller and other components you are using. regards
