I am building my own 7 segments rgb display Each segments contain 1 rgb led common anode So the microcontroller sends the output to turn each color of each led But with this I am using 21 pins of the microcontroller since there are 7 segments and need 3 pins per color of segment I am using uln2803 since the rgb led is 12v So I need you give me a purpose of wich compoenents use to reduce the BoM because at moment I am using 1 microcontroller and 3 uln2803 per display, and I am building a clock so need 4 segments we cant multiplex because that reduce the led brighting I am paying only 10 usd, no more because I just need an answer and not the diagram nor code

Hi, Alternate option to ULN2803 would be to use individual transistors. But overall the cost may be more considering the assembly cost etc. What is the current for LED? And why are you using 12V? Isn't that a quite large (and may be a lot of power waste) for LED? Regards Vinod
