I have done - Control of DC motor, Display on LCD and input from Hexpad - RFID Based Factory Automation and Remote Inventory Management. - RFID Based Loyal Card for Loyal Customers. - Bluetooth Communication between MCU and RFID Host. - Vehicle Tracking using GPS and Accelerometer. and a lot more. Hi, I have already worked on similar project but using Rapsberry pi. Arduino + wifi shield is limited resource and the cost of hardware is more than Raspberry pi with peripherals. Apart from the cost factor, Arduino is having very limited processing + memory capability that will make the application involving networking like wi-fi very very limited. On the other hand, using raspberry pi, we will get 500% faster processor and huge memory and cheap peripherals. As controlling over internet is not required, the raspberry pi can be the hub to host the server and a client can used used in desktop/laptop/smart phones to control the devices. Thanks!

I have made this before , using xbee , bluetooth In one of the home automation project I can give you circuits schematics and code files to implement this along with the code for android application and app itself. To control your home appliances u can also use xbee and a custom mode app that run a voice recognition server , so if you say 'switch on the lights' lights will switch on this can be easily done using an android app, ( bluetooth , xbee or wifi module ) + atmega 8

Hi There, You are going for a much complex version to solve this required problem. This can be achieved using a PLC which is a Programmable Logic Controller. In case you don't know the proper functioning of the same, I can help you significantly in that regard. However, if you still intend to solve this using Arduino, Wi-Fi shield and a mobile app, you are talking to an expert in this field. Hi I can do that task perfectly , I have a good experience in Arduino and Android development. I think we can connect android app directly to wifi-shield and send a packet contains the address and state of each machine, and other hand (arduino side) setup a set of electronic switches and each one can represent address of each machine. We have accomplished the task on both, the arduino and raspeberry pi. Hello, I can do this easily. However, I'll recommend you to use Bluetooth 4.0 instead of Wifi. With Wifi, you will need a wireless router/switch. However with Bluetooth you will not need anything in between to establish communications. thank you!
