Just a simple circuit to generate a pulsed signal from an incoming sine signal. It will be used to drive a strobe light synchronised to the incoming sinusoidal signal. The length of the output pulse should be proportional to the frequency. i.e. 10% and adjustable. The trigger voltage should be adjustable for adjusting the phase relationship between in and out. I just need basic diagram, no need to add regulators, filtering caps etc..

"The length of the output pulse should be proportional to the frequency. i.e. 10% and adjustable."- This is not obvious. Is this mean that "The higher the frequency of input sine signal, the longer the output pulse, thus the lower the output pulse."? I think that your project can be done by using comparator, frequency to voltage converter, so on...

Hello, I have this circuit ready with me. I used the circuit to trigger the photo-triac. Photo-triac can be replaced with the LED. I can give the simulation results also, so that you can verify that the circuit is working. You may message me for discussing more details.

Circuit will be designed and schematic drawn, 1) The duty cycle proportional to input frequency -adjustable manually. 2) Trigger level for threshold adjustment (like oscilloscope) I just rephrased what I think is your requirement. The trick is to use a frequency to voltage converter and then use a simple voltage-PWM generator, the generator's clock is threshold synced by input waveform.

Will need to know frequency range (max/min) and if the circuit must be input amplitude independent or not. If so, what amplitude range (max/min) does it operate over. Circuits that self-adjust (using feedback loops) to dynamically track changes in the input signal will inherently have a response time limitation. Having both a fast response time with also being able to cope with very low frequency inputs becomes a challenge and might better be done digitally. If the range of variation in input frequency and amplitude is not too huge (>= 3:1 ratio) and you can tolerate a fixed response time equal to roughly 10 cycles of your lowest input frequency, then an all analog circuit is a reasonable approach. If however, your range of variation on frequency is much wider or you demand very fast response time, then you become forced into using digital techniques forat least some of feedback control. Are you ok with this???
