I'm new to this site so don't really have "street cred", but I've done a few dozen corporate identities, worked in 2 marketing agencies (Futura DDB & Arih) so I know what it takes to design a good logo and all other corporate material. I usually first do the research of the brand, it's competitors, placement on the market, etc, then provide a few samples. Once the initial design is selected, it can be finalized, from typography to color scheme and variations can be made. I prefer minimalistic and clean designs, they're usually more noticable and easier to use on different types of aplications.
