We seek a software engineer/programmer to develop code for a touchscreen based product. The project is in Singapore, but you don't have to be. The current prototype runs on LabView on a Windows 7/8 system, and the objective is to move to a Linux or Embedded Windows platform, or otherwise facilitate a better user experience. The system will control, acquire, and process data/information from a commercial CCD system and device reader with Linux/Windows drivers; it will also control (via digital/analog I/Os) relays and other functions. The system will have a touch screen HMI for the control and display of information. The system should be configured to be multi-lingual capable, and may require UI refinement/optimization. Ideally, you will have experience in having developed similar systems in fields such as medical equipment, industrial HMI, PLCs. Expected timeline for this project is an intensive 3 months, with follow-up UI tweaks for a following 3 months. Documentation for the development life cycle would be required as an output of the project.

I am a French Microelectronics & Control Systems Engineer living in Mexico, I have extended experience as a Test Engineer, developing application with National instruments software and hardware. For example I developed the automated test bench for 3 Aircraft's flight computer. I speak French, Spanish, English and Portuguese fluently, I am very detail oriented and I have excellent communication skills. -May I ask what is the reason for moving it to linux? -LabVIEW code is fully portable to linux as long as there is no platform-dependent features used in the code, like ActiveX controls or .NET calls. I think it would be faster and thus less expensive to port the code to linux. -Could you share the code, so I can take a look at it and tell you if it will be portable, or else evaluate the solutions to port it? -Could you share the Brand & Model of all hardware involved? -Is there an entry document that describes the requirements? -Which version of LabVIEW as been used to develop the software?

As you are doing a switch lo linux you need someone that can write and debug linux kernel and boot process, furthermore this is a medical device which means Secure Boot and other security goodies to pass the certification process. So you need someone that known how to implement it and have already done it in the past
