Stick Shift App Name: Stick Shift Problem: The issue that we are dealing with is that there are too many people text messaging and talking on cell phones while driving causing accidents. This is 100% preventable... There are on average 10,000 deaths a year from people text messaging while driving and 6,500 deaths related to talking on the cell phone while driving. Hypothesis: With the conclusion of so many deaths related to the issue of using cell phones while driving we can reduce the amount of deaths by isolating the cell phone usage when traveling on all roadway. Basic App Function: App must incorporate several parameters and procedure for security and functionality. 1. App must have a password set by the parent so child can’t prevent app from not working or uninstall App from phone. 2. GPS cannot be deactivated on phone without Parental Password 3. Phone will auto activate when movement is detected on roadways. 4. If cell user is passenger they are allowed to bypass and use full functions on phone but only with Parental Password. 5. App will know when driver is on all roadways. 6. No text messages, phone calls or Internet access will be allowed during movement on roadways from SELECTED SPEED from control panel. However, ONLY selected apps are allowed to work with the Internet based on the Control Panel selected apps. 7. All text messages, phone calls and Internet access will not come through until all movement has stopped and only after SELECTED SECONDS on roadways has passed the allocated time from control panel. However, ONLY selected apps are allowed to work with the Internet based on the Control Panel selected apps. 8. After SELECTED SECONDS from control panel has surpassed, all normal communication can reside (text messages, phone calls, Internet). Basic App Control Features: App control panel features 1. Password to get access to control panel and change functions within App. 2. App cannot be uninstalled without password. 3. Change (Location Assistance) – when a text message is sent to cell phone a responding text will tell the sender that “This person is currently traveling. Latitude: XXXXXXX Longitude: XXXXXXX” a. Parameter to turn on/off the Latitude and longitude function at end of text message. b. This feature will have allowable coordinates by selected users. For example, if a parent is selected then the latitude and longitude will be attached to end of text message. Everyone else will not show coordinates at the end of message. 4. Receiving phone calls sent to voice mail. a. Parameter to turn on/off this feature. 5. Changing the SELECTED SECONDS timer on how long to wait after movement has stopped. a. 15 Seconds b. 30 Seconds c. 45 Seconds d. 1 Minute 6. Change function for Internet Browsing. a. Parameter to turn on/off this feature. b. This feature will have allowable programs that will continue to work selected by parent (Google Maps, Maps, etc…) 7. Change MPH/KMH parameters. a.
