I need a page builder system that will be used in another system. The page builder concept is to allow a novice web user the ability to drag onto an area the components they want and then let them edit and manage it via basic wysiwyg. If they need more complex functions then we let them view the code for the component/container. I have captured a perfect video for what I am looking for. Here is what you should be looking at The user can go to an empty page and then drag predefined containers onto the area to have them dock. They can then click in each container to edit the text or edit some image properties via a fixed toolbar at the top of the area. The user can reorder the containers within the dockable area. The parts you cant see in the video are..the user can save the page and then render it as just html so you don’t see the grips/handles on each container. Ie it looks just like a normal html page. 2 you can edit this page and all of the design time grips and controls can be restored and the user can edit the page again. What I am looking for is a system that works like I have described You should have a system that allows me to click add a page, then I go to the designer area and build a page and hit save. Save in simple sql 2005 db I then go back to the main page and see a grid of the pages I have made where I can view them and only see the runtime html or I can click edit whereby you load in design time again and I get to edit. I love the prototype and mootools libraries for this, I also like jquery and yui if needed. If you want to use a js editor please let me know the name of it.
