Category Modification

I new a coder that knows php/msql/html and css.. I would like the categories on this page to be modified <[login to view URL]> Firstly the categories that are in light blue are just to show you what it should look like.. The categories in dark blue are the bit that needs to be changed... The categories are pulled from the database. I need them to sort of have the same style as I have done with the light blue format.. Plus Can I have something like this added to it. Please see this shopping cart template and the browse by categories section <[login to view URL]> So on my one I would like the word 2009 Products, and then the months for that year underneath, and so one..
