Addition of Download page to website

The job involves adding a Download page to our website at [login to view URL] wherein our customers can log in and download files that are specific to equipment that they have purchased from us. The modified website shall have been given a "Download" tab, a Download page/area where customers can log in, customized download areas per customer, plus means by which we can easily add/delete/change usernames, passwords, files, links and descriptions for download. Note that the site has few, but important, users. Maybe <20 users, less than 2-3 files added per month. We are looking for a simple solution. ## Deliverables Specifically you shall: * Add a "Download" tab to the homepage. * Add a Download page, with an intro blurb and some graphics, where customers can specify a username and a password, and then be taken to a page (good-looking, again with an intro blurb) where they can click on a list of files to download. Each file shall be listed with a filename (link), date+time, plus a descriptive one-line text. The top of the page shall explain what to do. There shall be a link back to the home-page. * Add a button on the Download page that they can press to request for a username and a password. They are then asked to fill up a form similar to that on our "Careers" page, specifying Name, Position, Department, Company Name, Phone number and Email address. An email is then invisibly sent to our webmaster containing this info. Note that: * All additions to the site shall be in the same style, font, color scheme etc as the existing site. I.e., it must all blend. * The passwords shall be secure, i.e., no customer shall be able to download the files of another customer. * Multiple usernames may point to the same download area. * There shall be a "guest/guest" account for general use. * We will write the texts for the Download page and also provide you with the graphics. * It must be easy for us to change/add/delete usernames and passwords. Here you can suggest how it is best implemented. Editing and uploading a textfile is fine. We have few, but important customers. * It must be easy for us to upload new files to customers' areas. Here you can suggest how it is best implemented. Plain FTP upload is fine. * Some files might be too large to store on the server. It must be possible to invisibly link to a file stored on one of our own servers at the office. * You may use any technologies you like, as long as it is supported by our hosting service. See [login to view URL] for details on our type of account. * Once we proceed, you will receive a copy of all the source files for the existing site. You shall deliver: Complete, fully-functional and tested source code of all work done. Complete copyrights to all work purchased. Instructions on how to add/delete/modify usernames, passwords, filenames, links and descriptions. ## Platform All platforms that are currently supported by the existing website, including all 4.0+ versions of IE and Netscape. ## Deadline information We need to agree on page layouts and update procedures before you code anything. If we can't give you text and graphics within 24h from request, the deadline moves forward.
