Broadsword Web Site

Broadsword is a small consulting firm that is focused on improving the way technology and engineering organizations develop software. We are partners with the Software Engineering Institute and are licensed lead appraisers and instructors that use the Capability Maturiy Model Integration (CMMI) as a benchmark to evaluate technology organizations.

We are in need of a more professional web presence. We do not conduct business on the web directly, other than to market ourselves, and our site needs are very simple. Aside from 8-10 static pages we need the ability to post press releases, to advertise classes, and to offer on-line payment for those classes with an interface to PayPal to collect credit card payments (PayPal provides the control that you just place on an HTML form).

We don't need any customer management systems, chat, message board, or blogging.

We currently host our site on Yahoo and have used Yahoo Site Builder to build a limited site that has been running for about two years. You can view our current site at [[url removed, login to view]][1].

Winning bidder will be provided with logo graphics and photos if required.

We are looking for an individual who can build us a solid, professional, yet fresh looking site that will enhahnce our image on the web. Other enhancment proposals not outlined in this RFP are welcomed.

Our first step is to replace the existing functionality on the site. If you do a good job on this project there will be other enhancements in the future.

Please provide a link to any site you have developed for commercial purposes. If you have not developed a commerical site, please prepare some sample screen shots you can send us.

## Deliverables

1) Stand-alone prototype(s) of the proposed site prior to completion of the final site. Coder and buyer will agree on a set number of iterations (no more than 3) for review and approval prior to final system design and coding.

2) Complete and fully-functional working web site(s) as well as complete source code of all work done.

3) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

4) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

4) Site(s) will be built using industry standard tools and must be supported by the buyers web-hosting provider (Yahoo). Tools must be readily available so the site can be supported by the buyer in the future

5) developer will sign an NDA prior to commencing work on the site

## Platform

Site should be accessable by users who work in a typical business environment (Windows XP/2000, Internet Explorer/Firefox). The site itself will need to operate in the buyers hosted environment (Yahoo) so be sure the components you propose can be run in that environment.

Support of users who run Apple OSX or other Unix OS's is a "nice to have" but not a requirement.
