I am developing a site that requires a piece of software based on air miles travelled between two airports chosen from a drop down menu of worldwide cities. Distances are expressed in tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions created and then multiplied by a given rate in Euro, Stg£ or US$. Customers using secure online payment can pay the resultant figure. A second system, with the same methodology, allows a customer to estimate how many km they drive in their car, whether annually or during a specific period of time. Once again, this results in a monetary contribution they may choose to make towards environmental projects aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.
