**Chat functionality** **Background:** We will soon launch a B2b Community. It will run on Windows 2003 and MS SQL 2005. Optimized for IE6+ but should work with most browsers. Most existing features use resx files for language localization. **What we need:** One feature we would like to add is very basic chat functionality in groups. There can be many groups in the community. Some groups may add what we call a workspace with calendar, shared files, etc, available for members in that group. It is in this workspace we would like to add chat functionality as a separate “module??. If this chat module is activated for the group’s workspace only members in the same group can access the chat. There should be no connections to other chat “rooms?? (groups). **This project:** As a first step we would like advice/recommendations on options for this chat feature. Either based on freeware etc, or if you have developed a solution of your own. Any option must be possible to develop and integrate within a couple of weeks. Any coding/adaption will be done as a separate project. Final integration of the chat functionality will most likely be done by another coder. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform The site will run on Windows 2003 and MS SQL 2005.
