Dimension Maintenance Utility

Overview We have an ‘application’ we’ve built and can 'install’ in different parts of our organisation as required. In simple terms, the application is a *datamart*. Data is imported into a database, modelled/ processed within the database, and is then available for reporting from within the database. We will refer to this application as FDM in this document. We have a version of FDM based on SQL Server 2000 SP3 or better, and a version based on Oracle 9i. In all cases, FDM will be installed in a Windows 2000 Server or better network. FDM makes reference to business constructs called ‘Dimensions’ (eg. Business Unit, State, Region) to organise data. Dimensions are hierarchical; every Dimension will have an unlimited number of levels. Requirement We need a ‘maintenance tool’ (MT) that we can install with FDM that will allow users to log in and maintain the Dimensions within it. Users need to be able to access the MT through Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (IE5.5) or better. Any changes made by a user via the MT are to be fully logged. The installation process has to allow the installer to configure the MT to work with SQL Server or Oracle. See attached requirements document and associated sample database for a more comprehensive description. ## Deliverables Rent A Coder requirements notice: As originally posted, this bid request does not have complete details. Should a dispute arise and this project go into arbitration "as is", the contract's vagueness might cause it to be interpreted against you, even though you were acting in good-faith. So for your protection, if you are interested in this project, please work-out and document the requirements onsite. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
