Hi Alonso,
It was nice chatting to you on your website :).
I'm new to Freelancer, but have 18+ years of experience with MySQL and PHP and Website building.
This may be relatively straightforward or too complex for the time-frame and budget. It depends on how was the website written and if it's using any PostgreSQL specific features which may or may not be available in MySQL.
I'm proposing the following plan:
-I will analyze the PHP code and SQL code to see if it can be converted and it there are any obvious issues
-I will export the PostgreSQL database, convert it and import into MySQL (while creating the database structure)
-I will start converting the PHP files
-You will test the functionality file-by-file to make sure you are happy
The avoid disappointments on either side I'd like to make sure that the following assumptions are correct before progressing further (obviously if you will pick me :)
- You will provide Linux based server with Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostreSQL and a working installation of the system
- The system doesn't consist of more than 50 files (excluding images)
- It's actually possible to convert to MySQL without a major rewrite of the scripts or change of the way the website works
- No PostgreSQL specific features were used which would prevent 1-to-1 conversion
If some of it isn't correct, please let me know. We can discuss a way forward :).
If there is anything you want to chat about, please let me know.
Thanks a lot for reading this.
