Access 2000 to 2003 performance issue

I have a fairly LARGE access project with 15+ DLL's that are refeence in it. The access project is converteted to MDE and has 3 seperate tables attached to it. My PROBLEM: Upon using a network connection to the tables it runs VERY slow upon multi users even as few as 2 but obviously the more the slower it becomes EVEN to just opening it (There is processing done upon opening that connects to the "main" table) My QUESTION is: Will updating the program from ACCESS 2000 to ACCESS 2003 improve the performance of the program? THIS IS WHAT I HAVE DONE: I have indexed multi-fields and found a slight speed/performance increase. I tried to place the DLL's Within the MDB/MDE file but this did not increase the speed but did make the mde(25mb) smaller (less than 5mb) so since it did not help in the performance I went back with the dll's.
