Confluence Intranet Design and Implementation

We are a charity organization with a primary focus on the health of Indigenous communities and people living in tropical and remote areas. Our researchers require an Intranet, not your run of the mill boring intranet but an advanced platform offering them a truly collaborative and engaging workspace. The project will be the design and implementation of that workspace. We have chosen Confluence as the software to host this environment and are looking for skilled, enthusiastic and creative people to help us bring this to production in a relatively short time frame. Confluence has been purchased and installed in a Virtualized Linux Redhat Enterprise 6 environment. Training has been organized with Atlassian for staff and administrators so training and installation will not form part of your quote. Key milestones would be the creation of an engaging and visually attractive theme, configuring views, interactive mechanisms (calendar views, iCalendar feeds, RSS etc), Access controls (authentication against Active Directory), Systems Integration (Single Sign on), Notifications from contact forms etc, a student portal area for dissemination of information to students and creation of work spaces (As per site map). Hyperlinks from the "Home" page would link to existing systems such as Room Bookings and Employee Self Service Portals (Payroll). Confluence allows for the integration of mobile devices iphones and iPads via plugins and applications from the apple store. The finished product must be able to be accessed from any computing device (desktops, laptops, iPhones, iPads and iPods) via the companies networks with the use of these plugins/applications . We are happy to purchase Confluence plugins as required when liaising with the contractor during the project. The successful contractor must be extremely English literate and have access to Skype and email. The project manager will be in contact daily and milestone payments will be established for the life of the project. The timeframe for this project is (6) weeks maximum. Remote access to the Virtual environment can be provided to the successful applicant via SSH, WinScp, WinFtp etc. When quoting on this project please provide links to/or examples of your work. Look, Feel and Functionality is very important to this project so we will be looking for creative contractors that have a good track record on delivery. There are some technologies that we would not expect a contract to be terribly familiar with, perhaps the confluence plugins for iPhones would be an example. We are happy to work with a contractor as long as they can come up to speed on these plugins/technologies in a short period of time. A site map is included with this Project Post.
