Crystal reports / sql customization

We use the accounting system Everest. This system uses a SQL2000 backend database. It then uses crystal reports to generate reports, print invoices, receipts, etc. We have two projects that we need help on. The first is to modify the design/layout of the printed invoice, sales order and quote documents so they meet our needs for International orders and Government contract orders. The second is that the time it takes to print any documents is horribly slow. From the time you click print, it then gathers the data, processes and arranges it and finally prints it. This whole process can take up to 40 seconds for a one page invoice (all our PC's are 1ghz and above with 512mb of memory and more) ??" which really slows things down for us. When I look at the crystal reports file for the invoice/sales order/quote there dozens of hooks for calculations and data sets that we don’t use ??" it appears that the report file is collecting all that information, processing it and then discarding what it doesn’t need. I would like you to go in and streamline it, remove what is unnecessary so it prints faster. If you win the bid I will provide a fully functional demo copy of the software that you can download from us so you can see exactly how it works. I have also provided a word doc in the attached zip file with more details on what we need. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform The client program runs on Windows XP & 2000 machines. The server is on Windows 2003 with SQL2000.
