I'm looking for someone that can write an AWS (possibly AWS Lambda?) service that will query a whois server on port 43 and write the result to a database (result will be parsed for data). The key is that the whois server will only accept 20 requests per hour and 200 per day so I need to query from different IPs. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Hi there, You need ip-address change after every 20 requests. AWS services cannot help you in this situation. You also need central database to populate records and keep collecting whois info. If you can share some details with me regarding the requirements then I can suggest couple of good solutions for you. 1. How many requests will execute by the program? 2. What TLDs you are looking to target? Can you please answer above mentioned questions in your reply. It's written on stone that IP-Change things cannot work with amazon services. Hi, I'm a senior AWS developer/architect. I have good experience on writing node.js applications on AWS Lambda. I can write a node.js application which will run as a micro service on AWS Lambda. Lambda micro services runs on their containers and may use different IP addresses unless you put the service on a VPC/subnet. I'd recommend running multiple Lambda instances from multiple regions. It will guarantee more different IP addresses to be used. All of the Lambda instances may write results to the same DynamoDB instance. Looking forward to working with you. Regards, Engin
