Develop remote connection software

Our company, Job Accommodations, Inc., wants to develop a custom remote connection program (like Log-me-in, Team Viewer, etc.), which is compatible with Windows 7 and Vista, which we will use for helping our clients with their computers. ## Deliverables Our company, Job Accommodations, Inc., wants to develop a custom remote connection program (like Log-me-in, Team Viewer, etc.), which is compatible with Windows 7 and Vista, which we will use for helping our clients with their computers. Remote connection software specifications: I. Specs for the Job Accommodations, Inc. representative's side of the software; this person will initiate the remote connection: 1. The person initiating the remote connection process will go to "//[login to view URL]". This link will prompt for the user's name and password. Please note that we already have software on our fixed IP server which handles user names and passwords. 2. The screen will have the following information and elements after the representative logs in: a. "Welcome to the Job Accommodations, Inc. remote connection service." b. "Please ask your partner to launch the "Job Accommodations, Inc. remote connection" shortcut on their desktop; or, if it is your partner's first time using the service, then ask him or her to go to the Windows search box and type "//[login to view URL]" followed by the enter key." c. "The service will then prompt your partner to enter a code into an edit box for establishing the connection. Ask your partner to enter the code shown below followed by the enter key." (A numeric code will be shown here. We will need to have at least 5 unique codes for establishing up to 5 simultaneous Job Accommodation representative and partner connections.) d. After the partner enters the number and presses enter then the connection will be established. The program will play a musical tone on both sides of the connection to alert each side that the connection has been successful. e. If this is the first time the partner used the service then the "//[login to view URL]" switch will write a "Job Accommodations, Inc. remote connection" shortcut to their Windows desktop. This shortcut will have a JAI logo associated with it. The next time the partner uses the remote service then they will use the desktop shortcut for making the remote connection. The shortcut will contain the "//[login to view URL]" link. II. Specs for the Partner's side of the software: 1. If this is the first time the partner has established a Job Accommodations, Inc. remote connection then he or she will go to the Windows search box and type "//[login to view URL]". If the partner has used the service in the past then he or she will execute the "Job Accommodations, Inc. remote connection" shortcut on their desktop. 2. The screen will have the following information and elements after the partner executes the link. a. "Welcome to the Job Accommodations, Inc. remote connection service." b. "Please enter the code provided by your Job Accommodations, Inc. representative in the edit box below. Press enter after entering the code to establish the connection." c. After the partner enters the code number and presses enter then the connection will be established. If this is the first time the partner used the service then the "//[login to view URL]" switch will write a "Job Accommodations, Inc. remote connection" shortcut to their Windows desktop. The next time the partner uses the remote service then they will use the desktop shortcut for making the remote connection. The shortcut will contain the "//[login to view URL]" link. III. Additional functionality requirements regarding the remote connection: 1. The remote connection will need to have responsiveness speeds similar to programs, such as, Log-me-in and Team Viewer. 2. Both the Job Accommodations representative and the partner will be able to operate the partner's computer. 3. It will be possible for the Job Accommodations representative to do file transfers to and from the partner's computer and also print on the partner's computer. 4. Windows sounds generated by the partner's computer need to be played on both the partners and the Job Accommodations representative's computer. 5. The software will need to be functional with the following assistive technology programs in addition to operating with Windows applications: a. A demo of "JAWS for Windows" is available from //www.freedomscientific.com. This program speaks information on the screen. In other words, it converts screen text to words which is then spoken through the Windows sound card. It is likely that a virtual sound channel will need to be developed so that what JAWS is speaking on the partner's computer can be heard on both the partners and the Job Accommodations representative's computer. The Job Accommodations representative will be able to issue JAWS commands on the partner's computer from the representative's computer. Please note that I believe that the same version of JAWS will need to be running on both computers before establishing the connection in order to provide JAWS functionality. b. A demo of "Window-Eyes" is available from //www.gwmicro.com. This program speaks information on the screen. In other words, it converts screen text to words, which is then spoken through the Windows sound card. It is likely that a virtual sound channel will need to be developed so that what Window-Eyes is speaking on the partner's computer can be heard on both the partners and the Job Accommodations representatives computer. The Job Accommodations representative will be able to issue Window-Eyes commands on the partner's computer from the representative's computer. Please note that I believe that the same version of Window-Eyes will need to be running on both computers before establishing the connection in order to provide Window-Eyes functionality. c. A demo of "ZoomText" is available from //www.aisquared.com. This program enlarges text and graphics on the screen; and it also speaks information on the screen. In other words, the user can view information in large print and it also converts screen text to words, which is then spoken through the Windows sound card. It is likely that a virtual sound channel will need to be developed so that what ZoomText is speaking on the partner's computer can be heard on both the partners and the Job Accommodations representative's computer. The Job Accommodations representative will be able to issue ZoomText commands on the partner's computer from the representative's computer. We also want to magnify what ZoomText is enlarging on the partner's computer on both the partners and the Job Accommodations representative's computer. Please note that I believe that the same version of ZoomText will need to be running on both computers before establishing the connection in order to provide ZoomText functionality.
