App Dev: VR Media Viewer App
We require an app that can deliver a navigation interface to users wearing a VR headset, and serve (pre-existing) VR videos within the app.
FUNCTIONALITY
• A navigation system in which different video media thumbnails can be selected, to play different VR videos.
• The navigation environment should be VR responsive.
• The app is required to be able to both stream the video feeds directly from YouTube, or alternatively, download & cache the videos onto the device to view offline.
• The app UI/UX has already been designed.
USE CASES
User 1)
1. User downloads the app
2. User opens the app
3. User places the phone in the VR headset
4. User selects a video to watch
5. User streams the VR video, utilizing video-control navigation (play/stop/previous/next/exit/etc)
6. User exits the video and selects another video
7. User closes the video, removes the headset and exits the app.
User 2)
1. User downloads the app
2. User opens the app
3. User places the phone in the VR headset
4. User selects to download the videos to their local device
5. User exits app
6. User opens app later, when not able to access the internet
7. User selects a video to watch
8. User loads the VR video, from a local source, utilizing video-control navigation (play/stop/previous/next/exit/etc)
9. User exits the video and selects another video
10. User removes the headset, closes the video, and exits the app.
