Seems like you are building trust between two forests/domains. If the issue is isolated to DNS, these would be the initial checks: - Are ports open on intermediate Firewalls/Routers? Both TCP and UDP 53 will be required for Zone transfers. - Are the DNS suffixes added to resolve FQDNs of the trusting domain? Collecting Network traces in both domains will give us clarity on what is failing, not just for DNS but for other AD traffic as well. We have 10+ Years of experience in troubleshooting Networking and Windows Platform for Microsoft Enterprise Customers. We work on all Server roles, AD and DNS are part of it. If the problem is related to DNS, it shouldn't take more than a day to fix it. But we will be happy to assist you with Trust issues as well if things go in that direction. Hi, I can assist you on this if these are Windows Servers. Would you like to create Secondary, Stub zones or conditional forwarders so that domains can talk to each other from DNS standpoint and then be able to build AD trust? Have you opened up required Network ports between the domains so that all DNS and AD traffic can flow back and forth? A robust DNS infrastructure is critical for a healthy Active Directory. DNS can be automatically set up and configured when you install a domain controller. But when you need to create a trust between two AD forests, you will have to perform some manual configuration in DNS to ensure that name resolution works between the two forests. I would like to see the environment and resolve in some hrs.
