Hello!
I am an American freelancer who has lived in the UK for nearly fourteen years. I am well versed in UK and US English, and I have worked on projects that involved "translating" UK English to US English and vice versa.
The majority of my work involves editing and proofreading fiction and non-fiction books. I have worked with one YA author for nearly two years. She published her first book on Amazon and it received some negative reviews due to spelling errors, typos, and other distracting errors. She hired me to find those errors and correct them. She was pleased with my work and I have gone on to edit the remaining three books in her vampire/witch series, plus a novella and the first two books of her new werewolf series.
I also have worked with another author from Mauritius, editing her sci-fi duology. I have also edited several sci-fi short fiction pieces and numerous non-fiction eBooks.
I have a meticulous eye for detail. I will check your manuscript for any spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors. I think it would also be interesting to combine US and UK English into your story. You could, for example, use UK spellings, but when it comes to referring to certain items you could use their US names. How you wish to approach this can be discussed later. I track all corrections/changes in Word.
Please feel free to visit my profile and reviews. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Kind regards,
Kathryn
