Google Chrome fixes

I have a Chrome extension, which uses a background JS code. The code interacts with native code on Windows and is supposed to send back responses from the native code to the calling web page As of now, my entire extension works in a single direction. That is, my instructions from the web page are going to the native code, and the code completes the task. However, in the web page, I am unable to get back the response. I think I'm missing a response ID. Need help to figure this out.
