Dear professionals, I need someone who is very handy with illustrator and understand everything about Adobe products. I work with some freelancers who are unable to deliver an .AI file that could be exported to .PSD with layers. I tried many things (i own adobe photoshop and illustrator CS6 official for MAC), but when i choose RGB the export layers are grayed out and when i choose other options including export to layers the PSD end file is just a flat image. Now i am not so much of a graphic person so i dont know how it works, but i need someone who is able to export my .AI file to .PSD and learn and tell me how you got it converted in the right way so i can apply it to my other files myself. If you have your own script or create your own adobe script is also fine as long as the end results works. Please only small bid for simple project for the right professional.

Hi there, I can relate to your problem. Illustrator and Photoshop are very much different in the way they handle data. When you export from ai to psd, photoshop must be unable to parse some of the data in your ai file. It is a hassle, but I´d recommend to check your artwork in illustrator (element by element) and ungroup every single group you may have, this may help but certainly not entirely since the cause of flattening could be due to other stuff such as certain transparencies, gradient mesh, compound paths, etc. If you wish, I can take a look to your file and see what I can do.
