Hello, We have developed an online tool where users enter people's names, upload some txt files and then the tool is looking for every occurence of the name which has been pasted in the appropriate field. This tool was working perfectly until we pasted names starting or ending with a special character like é, è, à, ô, etc. So, for names such as: "Çamina", "Hervé" or "Wamô", our tool can't find them in the txt files, though there are many occurences. An experienced JS developer already looked at this issue without finding the solution. That's why we're looking for a real expert in Javascript to fix this issue. Thanks in advance for your help. Hi there I love these little investigation tasks. There is probably nothing wrong with the logic. Usually a text search is one line of code and if your developer couldn't fix it then that only leaves one other thing: encoding. Special characters may be getting messed up as the character set is possibly wrong. Happy for you to wing me over the stuff as soon as you are free. No need to award me the project. Just want to investigate and find the issue. Also because I just love a challenge! Oh and in regards to skills. I live eat and sleep JavaScript. Used it at work and at home for over eights years. It's probably better than my English - ok well not really haha Either way all the best and hope you get it sorted!
