A fascinating project. Hospital acquired infection is the major cause of mortality on hospital admission. The bio-film formation aids to the survival of the pathogens like Pseudomonas and S. Aerus. The intent of the project seems to be the reduction of bio film formation. Using surface wave is an unconventional method to reduce bio-film formation. Compared to current chemical disinfectants which are bacteria specific, surface wave will work for all bacteria and even for virus. The ex situ demo is quite easy. But in situ working is very difficult to demonstrate. I am not sure what you are trying to achieve. I am a physics Ph.D graduate with the knowledge of piezoelectric, poling and vibration modes and their analysis. In addition, I also possess expertise of microbiology and epidemiology. I have experience in tuning the frequency and merging modes to enhance displacement (increasing the amplitude of surface wave). I also have the knowledge of COMSOL to study the modes.
