The systems administrator is responsible for the administration of all aspects of BrightOrder infrastructure servers and hardware, under the supervision of the lead IT Infrastructure Manager. This person conducts infrastructure projects as assigned and assists with any technical support problems as required. The systems administrator assists in the research, selection, installation and maintenance of infrastructure and related hardware and software for the mission as requested in a multi-client environment.
Essential Duties
Conduct assigned infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, on-time project completion.
Shares responsibility for the setup and maintenance of BrightOrder server and infrastructure systems.
On call rotation as required; must be accessible via cellular telephone or established telephone number(s).
Assist with the management of all physical and virtual servers, ensuring that each server has the maximum possible uptime under the guidance of the senior systems engineer and other senior team staff.
Troubleshoot problems with in-house and external web, mail and application services.
Aid in creating policy and procedures to protect and manage the entire BrightOrder server environment.
Maintain a broad knowledge of server software, operating systems and hardware.
Monitor system logs and activity on all servers and devices.
Attend and actively participate in scheduled team meetings.
Coordinate with systems engineering, network engineering, development team and Help Desk to schedule releases of software updates.
Investigate, analyze and resolve hardware and associated software and communications problems on BrightOrder computer systems.
Review, prioritize and process issues; document the progress of projects through updating and maintaining those issues on a timely basis.
Provide assistance with advanced hardware and systems software technical assistance and support; troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software, and communications failures and conflicts.
Assists in implementing and maintaining IT processes for data recovery, redundancy, and security in accordance with IT policy.
MUST be an expert in OTM APP SYSADMIN
OCI Cloud Expert
Control and monitor available tools to be proactive in maintaining network and system up-time.
Provide software, server, and network technical assistance.
Experience Required For the Job
Two to five years of experience in Systems Administration.
Experience designing, implementing and maintaining core IT services: DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
Experience in troubleshooting Linux, Weblogic, JDK
Experience configuring and troubleshooting the following Microsoft server software: IIS Web Server, ADFS, ADCS, SQL Server and Active Directory.
Experience working with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization solutions. Working knowledge of vSphere specific terminology, concepts and tools, including vCenter, vMotion, powerCLI, HA, vSphere Replication, and data store configuration and management.
Experience working with I.T. staff and user groups to design and implement server and software solutions
Functional knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and countermeasures, and basic understanding of network and firewall configurations for providing publically available web services.
Working knowledge of Linux Systems.
Exposure with infrastructure-as-a-service platforms (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, etc.)
Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
