The project is to create a property portal (hotel It' s a clone of hostelworld •Development Platform: PHP •Minimum Supported Browsers: Explorer 4 , Netscape 4.7 , Mozilla 1.4, Safari 1.0 , Firefox 1.0 •Supported operational systems: Windows, Linux and Macintosh •Supported databases: MySQL •Screen display: Optimized for 1024 x 768 •Standards for publishing: W3C XHTML Strict Authentication and User Access management: The system will be designed to provide multi level access system where access rights to the system can be provided to different user groups. For example the corporate admin will have the ability to add separate administrators to manage content and order management same for contacts management for registered members. User Modules The following modules will define the interactive modules in the front end of the site: Property Directory: The heart of the system the Property directory will be designed with Yahoo style architecture and allow the Property manager to classify their property by Geographical regions. This directory must be search engine friendly and url rewrite The directory will allow the users to easily traverse through the directory with search support allowing them to find the property they seek with ease. The directory system will allow the increased from the administration control panel of the site, which will allow the site administrator to add/edit and delete locations/categories from the directory. Property Listings: Visitors will be led to the properly listing section after they click on search results or reach on the page by traversing through the directory. This Page will contain the actual Property with Multiple Photos, and Information about pricing, location and amenities, availability calendar and content information of the property owners. The listings section will have the following sub modules. Registration process: The site will allow the Property manager to register for their membership on the site. After they complete registration they will be led to “Property section” page where they can build their listing and publish on the site. They will have the right to modify content through secure password protected section. Payment Model: Here the Property manager will be presented with the various plans to list their property and allow room classifications. All business rules can be set from the back end rules management section where the site administrator can design membership plans and associated fee. After they select a plan the advertiser will be sent to a secure payment gateway for online credit card payment system. The Property section: This section will allow the property manager to create and save Properties. The Interface will allow the property manager to preview the listing. The control panel will offer the property manger to save property details in multiple European languages. Each property will have the following attributes: •Property Title •Property Description •Property Rental / Price List •Category Classification •Amenities •Photographs (Up to 5) •Availability calendar •Contact Information Search: The site will offer simple and advanced search option to visitors to help locate Property as illustrated in the Functionality document. The simple search will be a keyword search engine. And the advanced search will allow the visitor to query by sub regions, price range and Property type. Compare: From the search listings page the users will be able to compare properties by selecting the properties and clicking on the compare button. Search engine module: The site will allow the users to sort the properties by location (city) and my name. Admin Modules The following modules will allow the site administrators to manage the content and transactions across the site: Site Settings: This area would include settings for system variables like membership admin alerts, feedback form email settings, Credit Card gateway settings etc. The administrators will be able to set which email address the contact enquiries need to go to similarly other sections like the photo galleries notifications which require email settings can be managed from this section. Manage Rules: Management of business rules like payment plans, pricing, discounts etc. Member Management: This module will allow the admin to management members in the system. This module will allow the admin to search, view, edit and delete member information from the system. Manage Property Directory: This module will allow the admin to management directory categories and directory listings in the system. This module will allow the admin to search, view, edit and delete directory information from the system. Manage Amenities: This module will allow management of amenities from the administration section. These will in turn will be displayed in the property section in the front end. Manage Properties: This module will allow the admin to search, list edit and delete properties from the site. Manage Content: The hart of the system the content management section will allow the admin to allow publication of content from an WISWIG Interface in the admin section. The scalable content management section will allow the site admin to manage content across website. This will include publication of new content and links on the website. The CMS will provide the options to enter multiple languages and these will be linked to flags on the header, which will change language preferences. The CMS will provide additions interfaces to manage meta data for search engines. For example while adding content the site admin can also specify additional data like page title, description, keywords etc. the content management section will also allow the admin to select and attach quotes and testimonials to content from existing database library. Order management: This section will show the admin no of orders by date and by property lister/Property manager. Online Payment authorization and data storage: The site will integrate with an online payment processor in order to collect credit card payment. Once an order is placed, regardless of whether it is a bank transfer or credit card purchase, the customer will be sent an electronic receipt of purchase. Additionally, the site administrator will be sent details of the transaction, and the transaction itself (excluding the credit card information) will be stored in a back-end database (so that in the event of mail failure, the details are still retrievable). The name and e-mail details will also be written to a flat subscriber table in a back-end database. Reporting: From the Administration interface the site administrator will be able to: The ability to pull reports that reflect total views by: •Date •State or Providence •Postal Code The ability to pull reports that reflect total customers & revenue by: •Day, Week, or Month •Country •State or Providence •Postal Code Automated Processes: The system will run several time based automated processes to automatically generate activation, and expiry reminder emails to the advertisers.
