on rapserry 2 plateforme, with a usb camera, this project requires image processing using OpenCV library and a java server on a windows or ubuntu OS, as you want. The camera look a parking of cars. this project will be in 4 part: part 1: make a application with a gui interface to program parking areas with a unique id for each area. The source is the camera. Part 2 : processing the use or not of each area. Each application detect switching free/busy, make a call to a java remote method (see part 3) part 3: make a java server with a mysql database to implement remote method statusOfArea(int IdArea, boolean free) and int getFreeAreas() part 4: make a web application to see number of free space: a windows with a title (name of parking) and a number (number of free space). The data will be a frequent polling of remote method getFreeAreas()
