So your ask is to have data moved from various sources to be consumed by Tableau. I have built python scripts that move data from web and SQL sources to AWS cloud and google cloud. That data was then used for Tableau visualizations through scheduled extract refreshes. To make sure you are aware of all your options, especially the one that result in significant savings, have you also considered using an ETL tool like Talend(free license) or Alteryx(paid license) for the data processing? Compared to a regular Python development where I will have to build the connections, test and maintain, these tools (drag and drop model) already have advanced connectors built-in. This cuts down work by as much as 80%. I have had clients (US based) who moved to ETL even though they initially planned for python scripts because of the potential cost savings. So assuming the Python scripts development takes 40-80 hours minimum (including testing), you would be looking at savings of approx 50k at least. Also, Tableau performance gets severely impacted with custom sql. Is it absolutely necessary to use custom SQL? or is it due to data transformation needs?
