Task Objective: Demonstrate your ability as a project manager to (i) analyse the key aspects and issues of a project for an organisation and (ii) to communicate these issues to the organisation’s senior management team in a report format. Task Description: Scenario: Your organisation currently runs its integrated sales order processing, inventory control and financial systems on an in-house computer system. There is a proposal to move these applications to a hosted platform, meaning that the computer system on which the applications run will then be located off-site and managed by a third party service provider – an arrangement that is often described today as running in “the cloud”. As the designated project manager, write a report to the senior management team of the organisation highlighting the key aspects of the project and the issues that it entails. Your report must be supported by academic literature and written in a style appropriate for senior management consideration. It should be approximately 3,000 words in length.
