CAD designer to create a 3D model of a residential building

The SolidWorks CAD Designer will create and maintain 2D and 3D prints and related documentation on past and current projects. Essential Job Functions Create solid models and assemblies based on sketches and instruction. Convert SolidWorks models and assemblies to 2D drawings. Generate product documentation from concept drawings, to complete working assembly prints and tooling drawings. Control revisions on existing prints and redesigns on existing products. Check prototypes with precision instruments for print to part accuracy. Provide detailed installation assembly prints with BOM's for fabrication use. Ensure all drawing files are saved and placed in proper locations to enable all employees with AutoCAD clearance to be able to access prints. Provide support as needed to the Engineering Team in choices of mechanical and drawing aspects of project designs. Establish standards for all aspects of drawing as far as tolerance, layer control, title blocks, and drawing aspects of project designs. Regularly uses independent judgement to generate creative design concepts and presents them to the R&D team Requirements: Associate Degree in Drafting/CAD Technology. Proficient in SolidWorks with 2-5 years of experience designing surfaced models for molded parts. Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and work well with all team members. Have the ability to be self-directed. Other Skills/Abilities SolidWorks certification is preferred, but not required. PPE Requirements Safety glasses when inside production areas.
