I am using the PICC LITE C compiler from htsoft to program the PIC16LF627. The PIC16LF627 is connected to a synthesizer and what I need to do is program certain registers of the synthesizer by means of serial communication. There is a 3 wire serial interface and I have written all the code to put bits into respective registers...the only problem is that I donot know how to enable serial communication...I think I need to use timers and interrupts that I have not and also there are registers of the microcontroller that may need to be written to that I may have overlooked. Specifically, the synthesizer gets a 10 MHz signal and the microcontroller is programming the synthesizer such that output from synthesizer is 1664 MHz signal.
