Workshops refer to any interactive activity aimed at educating participants in different practical techniques, ideas, or competencies. They are sometimes considered as trainings, but the former usually involves hands-on experience and/or demonstration of application of the skill. A common feature of workshops is the size of the audience. To allow for more participation from the audience and to ensure more attention is given to participants, workshops are usually composed of small groups, ranging from 5 to 12 participants. In addition, the audience is most likely colleagues or working in the same industry. Lastly, like any other trainings, facilitators or speakers in workshops are required to be experts or skilled at the subject of the activity.
