I made a similar blocking application but not in a driver (KERNEL) mode. My application was based on Windows Hooks. Are you able to provide more information maybe I will come with an idea ? Is your driver some kind of mouse driver or something else ?

Hi, it needn't a kernal driver. We can limit the mouse over our window and whenever the user moves the mouse we move the mouse back. I wrote similar application before which read the mouse position 10 times per second and everything works fine. I am a senior developer and worked for the symantec before. You can trust me. What you need is a WDM mouse class filter driver. I've written a filter driver before. The filter driver would block certain kinds of IO Request Packets (IRPs). Any driver needs to be heavily tested and this takes time...the driver will need to be tested on serial, PS/2, and USB mice and across the four APIs (SetCursorPos, DirectInput) that expose mouse functionality.

I Just have similar code runing for windows 7 (64 bits too), 2 Files, 1 Driver .SYS and other (c file) that manage the driver when it need be ON or OFF, i need put new feature as you need, as X and Y position or application for dont allow to click in it. Was Made using WINDDK for Windows Kernel.
