At C4G Academy we offer individualized solutions to meet individual needs and to build or enhance healthy relationships. Caring for Girls (C4G) is a positive youth development program for girls, age 12 to 18, who have been abused and placed in out-of-home care (defined as court-ordered placement with foster families, relatives, group homes, or residential treatment centers). This intensive 6-12 month program uses a combination of family supervision, individual mentoring, community involvement, therapy, and enrichment classes to promote healthy development and reduce risk factors for adverse outcomes, such as delinquent behaviors, risky sexual behaviors, and substance use. In collaboration with Thaise Educational and Exposure Tours, Inc and My Daughter’s Keeper, we provide workshops in the community educating youth and adults on sexual abuse, childhood trauma, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, self-esteem, human trafficking, internet safety etc. Also, C4G provides one on one Life Coaching to youth; males and females who have been exposed to violent trauma and who are experiencing emotional, social, and/or behavioral difficulties. In phase two, C4G Academy will be a structured residential program, emphasizing self-efficacy, self-esteem, and self-worth. We will house girls that were removed from their primary home due to sexual and physical abuse. We will provide therapy and transport girls to zoned school in the community. Our focal point is to build and enhance positive self-esteem within the girls by teaching relaxation techniques, anxiety management, assertiveness, goal setting, increasing social and problem solving skills. We emphasize positive character traits such as; being dependable, trust worthy, kind, respectful, responsible, and caring. C4G’s goal is to raise self-esteem where sexual and physical abuse has left a negative influence by decreasing feelings of disgrace, guilt, shame, and distrust.
