Hello, I have been using Linux for many years and I have built both hardware and software redundant arrays. I have also recovered data from regular desktops, servers and simple NAS devices (for example WD Sharespace). Your array using level 1 should mean all the data resides on every disk so it should be recoverable by having just one disk. If you have a spare disk you could clone the current data so you have a backup of it in case the drive fails. Did you connect this disk to another Linux machine? Did you try to start the array? Hi. How did you array got broken? If you have just one working disk from mdadm raid 1, then it should be not that hard to recover data from it.

I have been working as a Linux System Administrator for the past few years on Debian based systems and I am familiar with RAID setup and have the necessary know how since we use it in production on a daily basis.
