1300-1500 words, plus maps/graphs/tables and some literature around topic. Choosing a case study and topic with relevance to urban planning Formulation of a basic research question to investigate around this topic Evidence of some background reading and research on this topic (i.e. references) Ability to identify and download relevant spatial datasets for this topic, and discuss their characteristics/strengths/weaknesses in the text Mapping of these datasets at a suitable scale and with basic cartographic design skills Discussion of spatial patterns and distributions, and how these relate to the research question
