I need a Matlab code that can pick profiles diagonally semi-automatically (NE-SW or NW-SE) from a grid. It should also ignore blank areas on the grid. The user should specify the direction in which to pick the profiles from the grid. The program should i. Read the grid. ii. Ignore no value cells/blank areas. iii. Calculate the dominant strike direction along the outline of the body. iv. Plot the strike directions on map view of the causative body. v. And finally pick profiles perpendicular/orthogonal to strike direction. I have attached an image showing the anomaly, word doc. of the model parameters and also a file of the grid. WITHOUT a description on how you will solve this problem, I will not accept your bid so dont waste either of our time! Thank you

Two ideas, depending on requirements. 1. Monte Carlo Markov Chain: model the strikes as linear sections, with free parameters given by its length, height, width etc. Begin search at local peaks. Constrain model parameters until suitable fit found. Pros: robust. Cons: could be slow 2. Cross-correlate with a set of rectangle templates. Accept above a threshold. Pros: faster Cons: trial and error to get threshold.
