Application should work in English, but be easily localized to other languages by simply changing a list of words/phrases. We plan to add these languages first: Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and then other languages including Chinese and other of the most common languages. Let me know your capabilities and costs and timeframes in this area because if this is easy for you we may want you to add as many languages as possible as soon as possible.
Where possible remember choices so that they become the new defaults
A progress bar should be used for things that could take a long time (e.g. downloading data from the server)
All lists should be sorted alphabetically, in some cases the option to sort chronologically should be available (e.g. places can be sorted both ways based on which event they are in)
Ability to get walking or driving directions between two points on the map.
Ability to ask for what is close by, based on a keyword and current location
The places view will display a list of all places from the guide, those that have corresponding HTML or hyperlink associated with them will be marked. Clicking on any of the places will display the HTML or hyperlink associated with the place. It will also be possible to view the place info data for each place like: name, country, city, latitude, longitude etc…
