126786 Alexa Thumbnail Fix

I already have the thumbnails installed. The problem I am having is that at times during the day the get very slow and do not resolve. Alexa has determined it is at my end. The script needs a little tweak. Below is a copy of the post that alexa sent me to fix. I do not know how to do this, it would probably be an easy one for one of you. Garry, Do you set any socket or connection timeouts for your thumbnail requests? As far as I can see the thumbnail requests are resolving fine from California. This leads me to think that your socket timeouts may be very short (under 300ms) so Thumbnail requests are failing due to the flux of service latency which changes from hour to hour, or you have a connection bottleneck set either by the host or by the application, so thumbnail requests are failing depending on the amount of traffic you get on your site. The report on ping and curl requests that you posted seem fine. It would be interesting to see what you get if you look at the number of established connections when you use the netstat command. (something like 'netstat | grep [login to view URL]'). Also, please check the [login to view URL] website next time your website has thumbnail request problems. My bet is that you will see that thumbnails are resolving fine on the website. (those thumbnails come from AST). Finally, you may want to look at the Redirect action. If it is indeed your server connection or application that is having problems connecting to AST, the Redirect action will certainly solve that.
