A new startup in the field of video media processing is looking for a hardware/software solution with the following capabilities; the proposed solution may use an off-the-shelf multiprocessing hardware units (must specify which). 1. A multi-machine, each most likely with multiple processors, capable of manipulating a given byte matrix against a repository of reference matrix, and produce a mathematical result. 2. The algorithm to execute will be provided under DNA later on, and will consist of 500 lines of C at most. 3. Current execution on 2.2GHz 64-bit AMD is 4 million 256-byte comparisons per second. Please specify expected throughput for comparison [we know it depends on the algorithm, which is why we state current performance]. 4. Target using low-cost hardware such as DSP-based PCI cards or similar; prefer high-density processor solutions, allowing for maximum processor per unit. 5. The hardware required will be most likely a set of PCI or similar cards, with one (and preferably more) processors with independent memory (8-16MB or more), hosted in a Windows or Linux box. Alternatives will be considered as well. Please specify the setup of your proposed solution, as well as total processing nodes per host, operating system, expected hardware cost, etc. 6. Controlling software must be possible from a Windows software (preferred) or Linux, in which we can manage (add, remove, etc.) the reference repository, and send the samples to be processed into and with the repository according to the algorithm we'll provide.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
