Webpage Rendered Image to png or jpg (Debian 6.0.5 Linux)

1. Overview We are working on a website that is a directory of web-pages. Web-pages can be accessed by clicking on thumbnails previously stored. We need a utility which will take a snapshot of a web page, convert it to an image format, either png or jpg. There are lots of websites which provide thumbnail images as a service. We are NOT interested in relying on any third party website. We need to generate png or jpeg images on our machine as fast as possible after a new URL is submitted. 2) OS, Hardware What we have. A VPS host with 1024MG RAM, and 11 virtual processors. The OS is Debian 6.0.5. The system is set up for development and has gcc, g++, php, perl, python already installed. We will install anything else you might need. We also have installed Qt4 version 2.8.1 the last stable version before 2.8.2/Qt5, WebKit has also been installed. Optimally we would like to start with the code below and have a little multi-threaded "server" that accepts requests which contain URLs, image sizes and a target path, and can handle multiple requests.
