The current page (see zip) displays the results of a running race in a table. People can sort these results in ascending / descending order by any of the fields.
See it in action here:
I'd now like users to be able to filter the results by any of the fields. Ie:
First name
Last name
Sex
Time
Place
Bear in mind if the time field is null, 'dnf' is displayed. I'd like this to be incorporated into the filtering process so if someone types in dnf into the time field, all people who did not finish the race would appear in the results.
I'd like standard search symbols to be used, pretty much like running an Access query.
Ie: typing "Da*" in the last name field should yield lastnames such as "Davidson", "Davies", "Davis" etc.
A*-K* in the lastname field should yield last names starting with A through to last names starting with K.
<=3:00:00 in the time field would yield results less than or equal to 3hrs, etc.
Not sure if php or javascript or some other language is best for this. I'm open to suggestions. I'd probably prefer it to be done in php, which I can tweak a little if I need to make minor changes later on.
Thanks,
Dave
