I am looking to build a Restaurant portal. Portal work more or less along the same lines as [login to view URL] Except that there will be no online ordering from the website At minimum, users should be able to: - search for restaurants using a variety of criteria - create a profile so they can post comments, various ratings, and select their own favorites, and favorite search criteria. The most important factor is that the portal has to have the structure to - be easy to maintain - be easy to modify the look That means that the actual design of the portal is not as important as the functions. I favor solutions based on proven platforms Please state your experience with portals. Provide 4 links maximum. While there is not a great emphasis on Look at this point, I will definitely pay more attention to more attractive portals. Particular those with web 2.0 feel FYI: Portals that grab my interests are portals that appear beautiful but simple (limited amount of info at a time) ********** IMPORTANT ********* I suggest you keep in mind that there are products such as - [login to view URL] (199 euros) - [login to view URL] ($69) who can *Instantly* provide me an already functional (if sometime ugly) directory. Your bid much certainly be able to do a lot better. That said, you can very well decide to check out an existing product and modify.
